Hossein Mahjoob (July 31, 1948, Rasht, Gilan, Iran)
Mahjoob was born in the city of Rasht in northern Iran.
He studied and holds a degree in literature and film and later took different acting classes with a number of famous actors and directors. He played in the first movie directed by Bahram Beyzai.
Mahjoob's first screen credit was the starring role in the 1971 movie "Downpour" by Bahram Beizai.
This talented actor has starred in many movies and TV series including “On the Way to Zayandeh Rood” and “The Tradition of Lover Killing “.
He was awarded as best supporting actor for his role in Majidi's "Color of Paradise" in 17th Fajr International Film Festival (February 1998).
