Abdollah Butimar (1933 - January 18, 2012)
Abdollah Butimar (1933, Baku - January 28, 2012, Tehran) was an Iranian film actor and dubber. He is known for Haft delavar (1973), Dozde-siyahpoush (1968) and Bazy-e-shans (1968).
Butimar was born in Baku city in 1933 and immigrated to Iran in 1936. He started his artistic career in 1951 in "Pars Theater" with people like Manouchehr Ghasemi and Kamel Helmi, and then he gradually turned to acting in cinema and played first film role in "One Step to Death" directed by Samuel Khachikian.
Butimar acted in 49 films and started his career in dubbing in 1959. Among the actors he dubbed are Burt Lancaster and Gregory Peck.
He left Iran in 1981 and immigrated to Germany. He continued dubbing there after a while.
In 2009, Butimar returned to Iran and spent the last days of his life with his old friends Khodairaj Iqani and Armen Meggerdichian.
Abdollah Butimar died on the 28th of December 1390 and was buried in the artist's plot of Behesht Zahra.
