Nosratollah Vahdat (September 7, 1925 - October 6, 2020)
Nosratollah Vahdat was an Iranian comedian, actor, and film director. He is best known in Iran for his Isfahani-accent.
Nosratollah Vahdat was born on 7 September 1925 in Isfahan, Pahlavi Iran. He was a pioneer of the Isfahan Theater.
Vahdat was one of the founders of Isfahan Theater. He started to work professionally in theatre at the age of 18. His sweet way of speaking and expressing himself made people happy, what finally made him to turn to the sweet world of comedy.
His first play was "Khalifa for a day" in the Olymp Theater and after that he worked in this and Sepahan Theatre together with Reza Arham Sadr. After a while he entered the cinema. "Since I entered the cinema, I was on the set during the day and at night I went to the theater at 6 o'clock and practiced until 8 o'clock, when 8 o'clock was the time for the public performance."
In addition to acting, Vahdat was also successful in directing. He directed the scenario for many films.
In 1964, he won the Golden Dolphin award for his film "The Bride" at the Asian Film Festival.
After the Iranian Revolution in 1979 he stopped acting. Contemporary actors of his include Parviz Sayyad and Behrouz Vossoughi.
