Rouhangiz Saminejad (June 24, 1916 - April 30, 1997)
Sedigheh Saminejad, known as Rouhangiz, (born on June 24, 1916 in Bam and died on 30 April 1997 in Tehran) was an Iranian actress.
She is the first Iranian actress in the first talking film, The Lor Girl (Dokhtare Lor) by Ardeshir Irani, a director of Indian origin.
Following the great success of The Lor Girl in Iran, Rouhangiz starred in his second film, Shirin o Farhad (Shirin and Farhad), still with Abdolhossein Sepanta as actor and director.
In 1929, Sedigheh Saminejad left Iran with her husband, Mr. Damavandi for Bombay where the latter had found a job in the Imperial Film Studio. After 18 years of living in Bombay, Rouhangiz returned to her homeland, Iran. She was a nurse by profession.
Saminejad lived on the ground floor of a two-story house located on Sarvestan Street in Tehran until her death on April 30, 1997, at the age of 81. Her body was buried in the Behesht-e Zahra cemetery in Tehran.
