Jahangir Almasi (June 9, 1955 in Zanjan, Iran)
Jahangir Almasi (born 9 June 1955 in Zanjan, Iran) is an Iranian actor.
He is a graduate of chemistry and a master's degree in law and international relations (1976).
He started his artistic activity in the theater in 1969 in Ahwaz and entered the cinema by acting in "Stemming from Blood (1984)" directed by Sirus Alvand. He has also directed a short film.
He has played different roles in his career, but he is known mainly as an actor who plays serious and intellectual roles.
Almasi was awarded the lifetime achievement award at the 31st Fajr International Film Festival.
Establishing of "Azhideh Theater Group" with Parviz Bashardoost (1973), working in the cultural unit of Iranian TV and publication of "Noushin" magazine (1979-80) are among his other early artistic activities.
He also played a role in the last episode of the tv series Coma.
