One of the most experienced and prominent living actors of Iranian cinema.
Newly established Shahrak Cineplex in Tehran hosted a ceremony on Friday to honor the veteran actor Mohammad-Ali Keshavarz on the occasion of his 88th birthday.
Amir-Pedram Alizadeh, the owner of the cineplex, told IRNA that auditorium No. 1 of the venue is to be named in honor of the actor at the event to commend his lifetime artistic career.
Born in Isfahan (April 15, 1930), Mohamad Ali Keshavarz is a veteran cinema and theater actor. He graduated from the Dramatic Arts Faculty (currently Cinema and Theater Faculty) of University of Tehran in acting. He started professional acting in plays and drama in 1960.

During his 50-year plus career, he has appeared in a good number of TV series, films and plays. He started stage acting in 1960 with “Violinmaker“ and his first film acting with 'Night of Hunchback' (“Shabe Ghouzi”, 1964, Farrokh Ghaffari).

Among his performances in plays are ‘Uncle Vanya’, ‘Antigone’, and ‘Play Strindberg’, movies like ‘Mother’, ‘Del Shodegan’ (Love-Stricken), and ‘Kamal-ol-Molk’ and series such as “Aunt Qamar’s House”, “My Uncle Napoleon”, ‘Hezar Dastan’ (Nightingale), “Sultan and the Shepherd”, “Wolves are Grey”, ‘Pedar Salar’ (The Patriarch), and ‘Kohneh Savar’ that will always be remembered.

Keshavarz has appeared in over 57 films so far. He was nominated for a Fajr Film Festival Crystal Symorgh for Best Male Actor for his role in Ali Hatami's “Mother”.
